But here’s a perspective you might not have considered: the jobless middle-class men who became the backbone of this fledgling society. These guys weren't just lazy dreamers hoping for a better life; they literally put their lives on the line to shape the early economy and society of Virginia. Let’s take a closer look at their remarkable journey, triumphs, and struggles.  

    So, who exactly were these jobless middle-class men? Picture this: it’s the early 17th century, and a struggling father of two, tossed aside by the prevailing unemployment back home in England, hears the call of the New World—a place offering more than just a new address.
